LOS ANGELES – January 12, 2005 – Toy Quest
is pleased to announce that the Toy Industry Association
(TIA) has chosen the Minimoto Sport Racer as a finalist
for Best Outdoor Toy of the Year. The Sport Racer was
the introductory vehicle in the Minimoto line of high-powered
electric ride-ons that created a phenomenon among pre-teens.
Since its unprecedented success, Toy Quest has introduced
several other vehicles, all stylistically and functionally
impressive.
“Since day one, we knew the Sport Racer was incredibly
special and worthy of recognition,” said Brian
Dubinsky, Toy Quest President. “We are thrilled
that not only the consumers agree, but that the TIA
took notice as well. It’s an honor to be recognized
with this nomination.”
The winners will be announced at the fifth annual T.O.T.Y.
(pronounced toe-tee) Awards, to be held February 19,
2005 at the Hilton New York in New York City.
“T.O.T.Y. – the industry’s version
of the Oscars – gives toy manufacturers the recognition
they deserve for producing best selling product,”
said Tom Conley, President of the Toy Industry Association
in New York City. “In addition to honoring the
year’s finest in children’s entertainment,
T.O.T.Y. Awards acknowledge outstanding individuals,
companies and team achievements. All of the winners
and all of the nominees, are truly the ‘best of
the best,’” Mr. Conley added.
