Go Go TV Offers Kids a Fun Way to Get Up and Go Go Go!

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 1, 2005) – Toy Quest, the LA-based toy manufacturer known for creating innovative and technology-driven products, is proud to introduce Go Go TV™ – the first video gaming system that gets kids up and moving. Go Go TV™, a console-based gaming system that features unique motion recognition technology, captures the player’s movements and puts him or her right in the action on screen. By offering kids a fun and safe way to incorporate physical activity into their playtime, Toy Quest is providing a unique response to the growing concern over childhood obesity.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, more than 25% of US children watch at least 4 hours of television per day, which can lead to significantly greater amounts of body fat as well as other related health concerns. In an effort to prevent and reverse this alarming trend, Go Go TV™ was created to replace sedentary TV watching with active TV playtime that is both entertaining and beneficial.

“Video gaming is and will continue to be immensely popular with children,” said Bob Del Principe, Toy Quest’s VP of Research and Development. “Our goal is to incorporate the best parts of interactive game play with our expertise in visual motion detection technology to create an enticing way for kids to get some exercise.”

Del Principe, who invented the first toy ever with the sense of sight (the Cindy Smart Doll) in 2002, says that Go Go TV™ is the evolution of this “seeing” technology.

“The best part about our technology is how fast it is. This allows action-packed games and activities that really get kids moving.”

To promote physical activity to children in a discreet and fun-filled way, Toy Quest has equipped Go Go TV™ with sophisticated software that tracks how much energy is burned. The more kids play, the more fun they have — and the more calories they burn!

The new user-friendly gaming platform will hit retail shelves this summer and comes with several different games. Additional games with interactive play accessories, including sports and licensed titles, will be sold separately for expanded game play. All Go Go TV™ games utilize the console’s powerful 16-bit IC for impressive graphics, music and sound effects, and the state of the art camera captures images with excellent clarity and color definition. The system never needs batteries and even lets the user alternate between playing Go Go TV™ and watching their favorite DVD with just the flip of a switch. Go Go TV™’s camera self-adjusts for use in any environment or lighting condition, making it easy for kids to get up and go go go!
