ToyQuest® Receives Outdoor Toy of the Year Nomination for BANZAI SKIMBOARD SURFER™
Los Angeles, CA (December 5, 2008) – ToyQuest, a LA-based toy company best known for its innovative products and line of BANZAI branded seasonal items, is thrilled to announce the BANZAI Skimboard Surfer has been nominated by the Toy Industry Association (TIA) for the 2008 Outdoor Toy of the Year (TOTY).
BANZAI Skimboard Surfer, a 26 foot long flat water spraying slide, allows kids to skim like a pro in their own backyard. The wildly popular product completely sold out at retail last year catapulting the BANZAI brand to number in the outdoor and surf categories. The Skimboard Surfer is the only surf television advertised item and is the top selling surf product in the mass market.
BANZAI, a line that focuses on fun, extreme, outdoor water play for children of all ages, consists of a wide variety of products such as constant air water slides, flat water slides, bouncers, inflatable pools and pool toys, water and foam blasters, sports toys, sprinklers, sand toys, and other backyard activities. In its debut last year, BANZAI Skimboard Surfer was undoubtedly the biggest hit in a line of surf-themed BANZAI products.

The 74 nominees for the Toy Industry Association’s 9th Annual Toy of the Year Awards highlight the most interesting new products of 2008 from a variety of toy companies. Categories range across all aspects of the industry from “Educational Toy of the Year” to “Most Innovative Toy of the Year”. The TOTY ballot was drawn by the TOTY nominations committee, which is made up of representatives from major retailers, the TIA board, toy trade journalists and academics.
